i just got back from the salvage yard, one single g body! wtf.. anyways there was a white 86 regal in there that had the factory tan leather pillow top seats with a center consule but they were pretty trashed, car was pretty clean though. i noticed it had a overdrave guage cluster so i was thinking about grabbing the transmission so i stuck my head under the car and the thing looked pretty new so i decided to pull it for the cutlass. after getting it out i looked at the torque converter and it had fresh blue paint and a tag the said it was manufactured 9/20/06, im telling you it looked like it just came out of the box. the car had to have been sitting for sometime from the looks of it so i am assuming that the transmission was rebuilt shortly before it was parked and then junked. sad to see a clean car go to waste but at least i got something usable off of it! now on top of the tpi setup that is going in soon i can have over drive and hopefully not have to stop driving it daily because the thing SUCKS gas.

you lucky b*st*rd!!!

You have got to love junk yards!!!!

Pillow top seats & a console shifter??? I thought console shifter only came with bucket seats. Never seen pillow top buckets wtf. At any rate the console shift & matching steering column are good parts to snag. Its easier to do with a junk yard car to because you can leave the car sit when your done as their won't be any steering. You can always have them painted to the needed color. Lots of people would love to get rid of their lame column shifter and add a floor shift & some buckets.

the pillow top buckets are likt the 40/60 split except there is a center consol. i have only seen it on regals but was more common on the later models
