2019 Challenger Widebooty HellKitty (she's giving me the meatsweats...)

Even in the commercial trucks are going auto. For my state job I had to be able to have a CDL with the stick restriction removed but only a third of our distric fleet is a true manual. The trucking company recruiters stated newer trucks have been autos. Now for the SS, it's GM's fault for not advertising the car or the fun it could of brought (or even let the general public know the car was for sale.) They should of used Dodge's marketing plan then the Charger would have a real compeditor in its class (& might even have a six speed.)

GM shat the bed with all of the Holden vehicles, they set them all up for failure. If they had brought the GTO over the way mine looks I think it would have sold very well, especially if they had actually put a marketing budget to let people know about it. But bringing it over looking like a Grand Am being a dual exhaust that comes out one side and no ram air hood turned most people off to it and never looked back when they fixed that the second year.

Just wait until Elon gets his autonomous electric big rig running, people will lose their mind

Very good article and shows from personal experiences the differences of both cars. I love my loaded GT, though my wife has basically claimed it. I can hardly wait to tow the new boat all over with it. We may buy a Hellcat next and a Redeye sounds like the car we would want. I want it just for the hood. My Wife would probably want white like yours, she really liked her 2010 Stone White SE which is similar to the new white on your car. I think we need some debt to disappear to own one myself.

The one thing Musto missed is how much more analog the car can be without the automatic. The manual transmission Hellcat cannot be optioned with a bunch of tech by default, and not getting things I believe adds to the "less is more" muscle car appeal. And this car is STILL loaded, I didn't even know it had proximity detection when I ordered it. A feature I had fun showing my oldest yesterday when i picked them up from school - I think she thought it was alive when it unlocked itself.

I've had the car for a week now and Natasha has asked me if I am "happy". I kept telling her that I feel good about it but "happy" isn't the right word to describe it. On the ride in this morning I managed to describe the feeling as "pleased". The car is a means to an end in generating pleasure through experience. My kids hugging me makes me happy. I think people confuse the concepts.

On the topic of the first week of ownership. The reality of ownership still hasn't fully sunk in. The car is amazing and I am still figuring it out. I will say this: A Hellcat generates a lot more conversation than an '80 Lemans wagon or the like (usually ends with simple nice (old) car). By comparison people are genuinely excited to see the Challenger - I had three conversations about the car yesterday (in traffic, getting gas, and at the school). I've also had one instance of a person in traffic who clearly took exception to the car and was being a douche. Seems to have a polarizing effect on folks. And holy-sh*t does it look great sitting in the street.

My daughter wore her Drag Week tee that I bought her to school; it probably went unnoticed, but she was proud of it.

Positive associations are everything with this hobby.

Little known fact: I tried buying a blue M6 '06 GTO back in 2013; didn't happen because our disposable income didn't match the depreciation curve and import fees. Still have the pics:

LS2 and a M6 had such a great appeal - but, I can live with building the wagon instead.

06 was the year to get, can't tell you how much money I spent adding 06 stuff to mine

Big surprise. That is the nicest GTO I have ever seen by the way.

Dude was probably going home to beat his husband for making him buy it.

And, yeah - that GTO was pretty sweat.
