So... im new to the g bodys. I just bought a 79 malibu after looking for a long time. I got it with 22" irocs. 22x10. Its rubbing the frame in front, so I put 1.5" spacer adapters but now im rubbing frame in adifferent spot. I had it lifted to stay off the fenders but what should I do to not rub when I turn?? 1.25" spacers? Notch the frame? I would rather not cut the frame but?? Anyone with suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I plan on building this project for a while so plenty more help will be needed and greatly appreciated.... thx.

First of all, you didn't need a lift at all for 22s. Hopefully, you replaced your stock springs and shocks before you put the wheels on. Secondly, it sounds like you have the wrong wheels for your car. By that, I mean that that wheels have the wrong offset/backspacing for your car. I hate spacers and would rather buy wheels that fit my car than cut my car up to make some wheels fit. Also, what size tires are on the 22" wheels? They may also be the cause of your problem.

They are 245/35/22. 10" deep and they came on the car. And at stock height they rubbed fenders on every bump or deiveway and rubbed frame every turn. They still rub frame but now just in a different place with the spacers...

You should really consider going down to 245/30/22 tires. However, I'm still pretty sure that the wheels have the wrong offset/backspacing for your car.

Oops that was a typo they are 245/30/22.. Should I just get rid of the rims?? Or will a 1" or 1.25" spacer work ????

If it were mine, I'd get rid of the rims and get some that fit the car.
