MALIBU 231 GM Chevy Malibu 83 Engine Can you use Flat pistons from the 3.0 Buick or 181 GM engine? For more compression! ? Thanks to whoever can help me.

I found other similar threads that allude to using that piston in a Buick 350 which shares the same bore x stroke as the Buick 231…🤔
Buick 350 shares the 3.8 bore with the 231 and 181, but the 231 has a 3.4" stroke, and the 350 has a 3.85" stroke.

If I recall correctly, there are some flat tops that will technically work, and will raise your compression, but the flat tops mess with the flow characteristics of the heads in a not-so-good way.

These boys seem to be back, alive and well:

I just found them and logged in. It's been a few. Everything seems to be there, dating back to long before I joined. There were many discussions on this kind of thing there over the years.

It's been a long while since I've visited that site. Probably gonna need to ask for a password reset... Used to hang out in the regional section down towards the bottom of the forums page. Didn't contribute much being I didn't own a TR. Just nice to have a place to visit with people from the local area.
