guys i still need some higher compression pistons. machinist (grandpa) got back to me, this motor was bored to 3.842 so i need some 3.840 pistons. would like to up the compression, maybe some flat tops. or what ever will get me to the 9.5:1 ratio, even 10:1 looking for a hyper set, not cast. any gone got any? i have cash, or know where i can get them, cannot find them

You won't find any higher compression 3.8 pistons short of custom built. Theres some topic about higher compression pistons for 3.8's on here- http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/before ... -sfi-tech/ but im to lazy to look for it now. Essentially I'd get it ready for boost so you could go blow through in the future. Some TRW forged pistons would be fine. Only other way is decking your block and that changes intake widths ect.

just throwing this out there...
recently, I heard of "ceramic coating" on pistons... I would imagine this adds a bit of a layer ontop of the piston (maybe a couple thou). How much would this increase compression?

What's the Buick 300 transmission?
If that the TH350 -- it's an okay transmission and cheap.

The 200-4R is better plus id has a 4th speed which will help when you swap-in the 3.xx gears.
