Please refresh my old memory guys, I'm supposed to disconnect and plug the vac line when adjusting timing correct?

Thanks.

That old Willys brings back some memories ! This is my old 54. Stock flat head 6. I drove it back and forth to work. I cant remember the axle ratio but I bought a Warn overdrive for it. I added a before and also a picture of the 46 CJ2 I had before the pickup. Both of them were body off cheesy resto jobs done in that big barn. Those were the days ! LOL

Put your hand over carb intake and see if it idles up. If it does you have an air leak of plugged idle circuit in carb. Possible base gasket also. Rare for timing to cause unless carelessly set

Thanks to all for the help. I replaced the base gasket, altered the adjustment on the accelerator pump and put a hose clamp on all vac. Lines......she's running great; now for the disc brake conversion.
