I know, there is a lot of discussion of what size fits which cars.
basically a 17x8 w/ a 255 seems easy.
However, my car has been in storage way, way too long. Two of the tires are flat. There is a high probability they will not re-inflate. The storage place is a ways out and I only want to make the trip once.... and the less hassle the better.
So, based upon this information
http://www.dumpit.org/grimreaper/tires-n-wheels.htm
I'd like to run the 17x9 10-Spoke SS wheels with 275/40's.
see, I already have a spare set of 17x9's w/ Toyo RRs from my CMC track car (4th gen). it will be much easier if I can just get a set of adapters, throw those wheels on the car and yank it out of the shed and onto the trailer.
of course, if this set up will work w/ minor mods, in the future, as road worth wheels then that's what I want.
Does anyone see a problem with this plan? will the car roll and turn easily using 2.25" adapters and these wheels? The suspension is stock, if not worn completely out.
by my estimates, this combo will yield a ~4.7" back space or -7mm equivalent offset both front and rear. according to this information, I should be pretty close with centering the tires to match what is done here:

(which is this car http://www.ls7montess.com/)
adapters I plan on getting: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Pcs-Wheel-Adapters-5x4-75-to-5x4-75-Corvette-Camaro-Trans-Am-Spacers-2-25/322395052427?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
so, both of these cars show a 275 fitting up front with a difference of ~3mm backspace/offset between the two.
I bought this car in March 1995, it was the first car I ever bought. I stuffed it away in storage long ago as I refused to sell it. I drove it through college, grad school, a move half way across the country, and countless other car projects. I had run out of room at home w/ those other projects and decided to store it. Months turned into years.... Now I have more room...
