Same problem here TH200C trans, 3000 stall 3.73 posi with 26" tire. i know i only have three gears in my trans but still 3000rpm at 60mph is no fun. im limited to very local trips till i figure out whats going on. If anyone has any tips they would be much appreciated. by the way i have checked the speedo and tach both are accurate and im running a 403 with 350 heads edlebrock performer cam and intake, double pumper and full length headders..... thanks

No mystery there, that's pretty much right on the money for a 26" tire, 3.73,and 3rd gear. You can change any of the 3 - get a bigger tire, lower ratio rearend, or put in a transmission w/overdrive.

Well since i don't have lockup is there any other way of hard wiring a lockup or install something so i can get a better rpm on the highway my tach is off by 250 rpm so at 70mph my tach says 2800rpm so my rpm is really at 2550 with 3:73 gears is this an ok rpm to be at 70mph.

If you have no lock-up option, then 2550 @ 70 mph is about right with your 2004R and 3.73 rear gear
