However, I was working under the hood tonight a bit ago and noticed that my plug wires are leaking. They are arcing to something metal, looks like maybe the frame or something down there. Had a lil light show going on. This does make sense because sometimes I can hear occasional interference when I got the radio on in the car.

Looks like maybe all three wires on the passenger side are leaking out.

A good rule of thumb is that wires need to be replaced according to time, not milage. As I said, test can can fool you. Most testing give false readings.
Once the wire are changed, then check the spark plugs for damage if there is still a miss.

Ha, I know it's been a while since we talked about this issue, and I just kinda gave up and said forget it and delt with that little miss for a few months.

Well I noticed a bunch of oil leaking at the back of the motor and noticed the pcv valve grommit was toast, cracked and falling apart. So I got me a new grommit and PCV valve. And while installing the grommit, that sucker was so hard to get in. So I was there pushing on that thing to get it in there and BLOOP.

Goes down into the intake. I try fishing it out for about an hour and a half, but no luck. (FIGURES)

So I bring out the tools and get prepped for surgery (ie intake removal LOL). Get that sucker off in about an hour and was looking at the inside of the motor. Very clean still, no sludge anywhere. But I'm inspecting the pushrods, and I find a pretty badly bent one on the #3 intake. Well...there's the problem.

Was very suprised to find this. Turns out the plastic retainer that holds the rocker arms in place to keep them from moving side to side down the shaft had broken on that particular arm, allowing that arm to move! I found the broken plastic piece in the bottom of the head submerged in oil.

So a new set of pushrods, new set of rocker arm retainers, an intake gasket, carb base gasket, a nice top end paint job, and many other new parts later, she's running just as smooth as she should be, miss free! And I did finally get that damn PCV grommit in while the intake was removed.

Sweet - glad to hear she's running smoothly now!

I would go with what jetsetw31 said about it being a fuel issue I have a car with a 231 and if the idle mixture is off and lean my car will run just like yours so id try adjusting the carb first
