I saw a video that on the 80s gbody cutlass the motor mounts were the same when putting in the 350 so I was curious before I start swapping if I need to get new mounts that go on the frame?

If you currently have a Buick manufactured 3.8 and want to install a Chevrolet manufactured 350 then you will have to replace the frame side mounts. Easy to find just buy them for a Monte Carlo SS. Then you need to find the engine side brackets for a car.

Will the original engine mounts bolt up? I'm a little confused. I have the motor mounts on the 350 from the car I pulled it out of. Will those work if I get the frame mounts? And if so will they work with the Monte Carlo mounts?

Alright thank you! But I thought the transmission will work with an adapter plate?

It will, but if its a THM-200 (which it most likely is) most people save themselves the trouble and upgrade the trans to at least a TH-350 since it's the cheapest and most direct swap. They didn't have the greatest reputation for strength and often failed behind stock 140hp 305's. But that's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions! While you're at it, don't forget you'll need to go with a different radiator and shroud, plan for exhaust, possibly re-route or lengthen wires (haven't done a 3.8 to SBC in awhile so can't recall for sure).

Yeah I have all that set up. I'm hoping i can use my transmission just for a little bit until I get a different one. But thank you for all the information
