BUILD THREAD 78 Malibu 350 rocket build kind of

those headers are flowtech 11152FLT I think. Don't get those get the hedmans. The flow tech have issues with the flange being too close to the trans shift selector. Also View attachment 250091View attachment 250092View attachment 250093View attachment 250094the passenger side header points towards the rear tire. But the driver's side is just fine with the dual crossmember.

I'm switching to a lokar type shifter to keep from having to cut the flange.
Unless they have changed them the Hedmans have the exact same issues. At least they did 20 something years ago when I put a set on my 80 Cutlass. The exhaust shop that bent up the custom duals actually had to cut and shorten the drivers side collector because it interfered with the trans linkage in the exact same way your picture shows. It wouldn't allow you to shift past drive, you couldn't get it into L2 or L1. Who knows maybe they have changed them since then but just something to keep in mind from someone who has used them in the past.

This is the correct way?. I didn't look at any diagrams or anything. I couldn't find any for a base cutlass non ac car
Yes, without the A/C compressor, it is right as you need two belts driven off the crank.
The alternator is supposed to have a dual groove pulley and both those belts are the same length.
Never seen that on an Olds V8 powered car.
