Could be worse...could be a 262, 265, 267, or a 283...

So You sugestions are to stay with 3.8 v6 110hp ?? over a 5.0 v8 ??
My target is 200rwhp But if I could finde 5.7 i would use it . But I can"t
I have two options rebuild my 3.8v6 and transmission or buy 5.0 with transmission for a swap.

The LO3 305 is a big improvement over the 3.8. It is rated at 170hp, not 110 like the 3.8. It still won't be fast, but it will be a big improvement. Besides, when you are in a country that never imported a car when new, it becomes quite hard to find parts for it at a reasonable price. I have been trying to by an Austin Mini for years now, but since they have not been sold here since 1967, all the ones I find are expensive. Especially when compared to what they go for in Great Brittan or Australia.

WHY would you use a v8 motor that most guys rip out to swamp in a 350 the 305 is kind of like the b*st*rd step child of the small block family and not all small block parts fit them like with the 327s 350s and chevy 400s ect

I say more power to ya... go for it. I've got a 305 in my GP, wouldn't trade it for anything. It's a lot better engine, I've found, than many others I've worked with (and there've been a lot).
