So I have finally decided that the ELK needs to stop holding the garage down, and start doing some wheeling. I would like some suggestions on a budget rebuild kit (will be tearing motor totally down). Need a new bump stick with decent street manners and plenty of stop light power! Will likely go with a Summit top end kit for intake and Carb (600-700CFM). I will be getting the block and heads worked over at a local machine shop. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I freshened up a 305 in my first car. We used a cam cam from a late 60s 350 SS. And a stock GM aluminum 4bbl intake with a rebuilt Quadrajet from an Olds 307 (was replacing a 2bbl and the Olds carb fit the 2bbl fuel line). Duals off the manifolds. We also lapped the valves on the heads. The engine ran nice and strong, I had the fastest car in high school lol. But to be fair, it was in a light Chevy Monza lol.
