Just wondering if I can use a olds 307 distributer for my sbc 350 motor. I'm almost done with the motor and about out of money so if I can make this work I would be very happy.
So far for my swap I have
84 Monte Carlo frame mounts
Sbc motor mounts
84 Monte Carlo flow tech header long tube
I have a universal th350 already in it
I only need hardened push rods, roller rockers, distributer that's it. Lmk if u can think of anything else I need.
Thanks

I seen someone before say it will work but have to conver it, and converting it isn't hard. Idk if they were right or wrong
I don't know about modifying it to fit. As far as just swapping them you cant there different lengths I think. There's probably some parts that interchange.

Won't work.

For one, the Olds distributor spins in the opposite direction of the Chubby.

Not to mention, unless your also using the CCC system, the 307 distributor wouldn't work as the timing is controlled by the ECU.

For one it is computer controlled, you probably need vacuum advance. Olds and chevy are completely different motors. Different length, diameter, rotation and gear for the distributor.

Thanks everyone for the help, I got a 50k volt msd distributer from advance. It's pretty cool, has vacuum advance adjustment and a built in coil. All I'm waiting on now is pushrods and set the valve lash it should be ready
