It'll run without it, though the check engine light may come on and it most likely won't pass an emissions inspection. You may also fail a visible inspection if your state does that too.

emmisions aren't a problem and i'm going to put headers on it , and i understand that you would have to take off the EGR system too. How hard would it be to take the air pump and EGR system off

Leave the EGR system on. It works fine on a mostly stock engine.

The air pump isn't a problem and shouldn't cause any problems at all. Mine was never hooked up and it never threw any codes.

In that case, then swapping intakes get's rid of the EGR. Are you going to try running this with the CCC system still intact? If your swapping to the RPM intake then I would find a non-CCC carb and distributor and remove the computer entirely.

For the AIR injection holes in the heads, you can remove all that metal tubing as well and plug the holes. I forget what size plug they take but I'm sure someone else might chime in with that info. I know when I removed mine I used a brass pipe thread plug but I don't think it was a proper fit. However they all snugged down and never leaked.

If your engine has anything but 5A heads dont waste your money friend... while it physically will bolt onto later heads its a brick wall the ports in 85 and up heads suck bad.. if thats the case.. either pull the engine and install a 350 or 403 or leave it alone.. If your trying to make the 307 perform better.. it simply wont.. the best performance mod you can do, is swap out the rear gears.. thats it brah
