i have a bone stock 307 in my 83 cutty supreme 2dr that has some chrome eldobrock valve covers right now. i am going to get rid of them soon and was wondering, would valve covers off any other GM cars would work? ive heard people say chevy 305 and 350 valve covers will bolt on.

If you buy them online they always tell you what they will fit. But the I believe that any valve covers for a sbc will fit along as they are not center bolted.

The 307 is an OLDS engine. A 305 is a CHEVY engine. The covers WILL not interchange. Every division of GM made a 350 so make sure you get OLDS 350 valve covers.

Your 307 likely has 5 bolt hole heads, any Olds V8, 77-90 (260-403) will have the 5 hole covers. You can use the earlier 10 hole versions, but just need to use RTV in the extra holes to prevent leaks.

I think from time to time people get confused because of the 307 made by Chevy. There was a 307 made by Chevrolet but it is nothing like the 307 by Oldsmobile. Only Oldsmobile engine parts will fit Oldsmobile engines. Same goes for Chevy, Buick, and Pontiac.

Also, I'm using 10 hole covers on my 307. I filled in the extra holes and I'm using spreaders to even out the holding pressure.
