I don't have it together yet. Had to scrimp and save to get it this far. Hopefully will be ready by summer.
I am figuring conservatively 375 horses.

Block was align honed, dipped and magnafluxed. Bored .020.
I reused my stock crank and rods, after polishing and resizing. New Egge pistons. JM 22/25H cam, heads massaged with new crane valvetrain, Edelbrock Performer intake and carb, Accel DFI6A ignition with coil, Taylor wires, and am using the brackets from the 307 and bought new accessories (alt, power steering).

When was the last time it was ran? If you don't know, the best thing to do is take it apart and inspect everything. If you try to run it, just be prepared that it might have problems and you will have to pull it back out again.

At the very least, pull the valve covers and distributor, then spin the oil pump with a drill and see if oil gets to the top of the engine. It would also be best to connect an oil pressure gauge to make sure it gets oil pressure.

After doing that, do a compression test on the engine. You can get the gauge from Auto Zone for about $40 bucks. While the engine is on the stand, get a battery and find a way to hook it to the starter so you can turn the engine over. Follow the instructions that come with the compression tester and perform the test.

The 307 manifolds do fit. Are you planning on running this on the computer? If not, you will need a non computer controlled HEI Olds distributor.

They tend to seize in there after a while. Try soaking in a bunch of PB Blaster then turning it with a wrench or vise grips. I believe there is a spot on the bottom of the distributor where you can fit a wrench. I think you should be fine on the computer.

ok it came up half the way then stop like it hitting on something or stuck.any more idea what it is??/....

i got it out this time and spend the oil pump, and yes oil is coming to the top of the motor. i also spend the motor at the crank with the #1 spark plug out n it had a good bit of pressure coming out if it...so i asking what next to do before i dope it in the car?? i just really dont want to break it all the way down.
