i need help, i have a 1983 buick regal with the rare 4.1 v6 it is cool but not enough power for me, i have a 350 block out of a 1990 chevy truck, b4 i do the rebuild i wanna know will it drop right in, and will i still be able to use the factory ac. i only want to run the streets and not the strip SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will have to change out the frame mounts, for a 305 Monte Carlo mount. You will have to score a different transmission, to bolt up to a Chevy. I believe all the accessories can be swapped onto a Chevy though, don't quote me on it. You will have to have some type of exhaust fab'd up, whether you use headers or manifolds.

Including the cost of my headers and exhaust, I probably had about $400 into my first Chevy 350 implant 8) But that was just putting an old truck motor in. The only thing I did to the motor was put new gaskets on it.

I have the same 4.1 v6 in my 83. I recently had my transmission rebuilt and the guy doing it said it was a BOP casing that a chevy engine would bolt right up. I have the TH350, if that helps any.

Ahh.. see we learn something new everyday lol. Thanks for the info.. Im still learning 😳

its an expensive swap unless you find a donor car or know of one in the junkyard you can rob parts off of. If you run the factory fuel injection that is on the engine you will need wiring harness and computer etc from the donor car. If you run a carb, then you will need an early HEI, Performer Intake and carb. The intake needs to be the one where the center bolt go in straight. Headers or Stock Manifolds, All the Drive Pulleys and Brackets for the Accessories, Starter, Flywheel, Correct Carburetor Brackets for the Intake, Radiator, Radiator Fan shroud, Motor Mounts and frame mounts. I used TBI truck motor in my car, got it free and had it rebuilt before I swapped it, should have got a crate motor in the long run it would have been cheaper. EBAY, Junkyard and Craigslist are your best friends. And most of all some mechanical experience.

thanks for all the advice, i think i will just get my 4.1 v6 rebuilt and go with that, or get a crate 350 from jegs and a bowler trans. if i do the crate engine can i still use the factory air conditioner or would i have to fab new lines

please post a link where i can get frame mounts and motor mounts for a 350 engine thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BK#602-1179 from NAPA is the frame mount part number

The engine side "bucket" mount will have to be found at a local salvage yard or if you have money falling out of your ears you can still get them new from GM
