Guys,

Ok, I just scored a pair of 350 heads from a 71 Cutlass for 200.00. I currently have a mildly built 403 and I am going to replace the 4a heads from the 403 and put on the cleaned, freshened 350 heads.

My question is: would a general machining, a 3 angled valve job and a 1 step up for the springs be suffient for my 350 heads? I also know that I have to have the bolt holes increased to fit the 403.

Thanks for all the assistence.

What you mention would do fine for a mild budget 403 build but there's always more you can do if you want even more power. Personally, I would up the valve size ( 2.00/1.625 ) and blend the bowls. IMO, I think that would really help those heads flow better on your engine, but it all really depends on how much money you want to spend and how fast you want to go.

Backcutting the valves helps too and is pretty cheap, so that's another option.
