350 junkyard engine

What should I expect to pay for a junkyard Chevy 350 engine if I pull it myself from a pick-a-part? I'm looking for a non-CCC, non-computerized one.
 
Where I am in Canada here...which may have no bearing on your location...my favorite wrecker charges $300 for any engine any size...carbed, FI or turbo...

Late last fall I sold a complete 350 sbc carb to pan, with exhaust manifolds, water and pwr steering pump for $150....I did need to move it quickly due to lack of space for it.
 
$200 - $500. But I gotta ask why ? With CL and Kijiji you could buy a running driving vehicle and have parts left over, or somebodys project. You don't need to specify non-ccc either. The CCC is made up of the computer, distributor, carb and airpump. Any SBC made from the 50's up until the mid 90's will bolt in place and you can choose to use the CCC or Not.
No JY around here will let you pull a motor either. Personally I would be looking for 96-2000 Vortec on a local site or car-part.com. Factory built they were the last and best of the SBC engine line that started in the 50's. These motors make more HP, better heads, roller block all for the same SBC money and will bolt in place. The only things that are needed to install into a SBC powered Gbody are the Vortec specific intake for 4BBL carburetor, and possibly an electric Fuel Pump / Regulator as not all the vortec motors were drilled for the mechanical fuel pump.

This is your best bang for the buck. The intake can be had for as little as $100 off CL if you keep looking. Even if you just freshen the motor with rings rods mains and a new timing chain, leave the stock roller cam and lifters you will be very surprised with the power these motors make. They are made to move a 6-7000lb. 4 wheel drive vehicle around easly so a 3500lb. GBody or any vehicle is a snap for these L31 motors.

Why? Because it is the cheapest way for me to get a complete engine. Everyone on CL wants $5-800 for engines that were already pulled that are complete. If I go to a yard and i can get one for $200 or so, I can clean it up and drop it in the car and have it running and driving for ~$400.

I think the junk yard is the way I would go. I don't trust half the descriptions I see on CL for engines.
