I really don't understand the technicals but we took the plate off my 350(87-95) where the fuel pump would go, looked in there and stuck a screwdriver while turning the motor over manually. I don't know what he was looking to find but he said damn it and that we couldn't use the fuel pump bought from autozone.
Is there any way around this?

One guy mentioned using an electric fuel pump, a Holley Blue Max Pressure Electric Fuel Pump to be exact.
Would this be the easiest solution, and if so how and where would I install it?

Thanks

Go to the junkyard and get a fuel pulp rod. It rides on the camshaft pushes the fuel pump lever. Maybe he was looking for the lobe that drives the pump rod. It should be built onto the cam itself. My 87 engine had the lobe but it was pre-roller cam. Maybe the roller cam did not have the lobe..

It should unless the cam does not have a lobe to drive the pump rod

I don't know what a lobe looks like or where it is located.
Also, if this helps any, the motor is a gm crate motor with a ac delco sticker on it and a bunch of ac delco parts. Has 12,000 miles on it 87 to 95. Can you tell me how to verify if i can use the pump rod?

You will need the rod, plate and the 4 bolts (2 smaller bolts to hold the plate on and 2 other bolts for the fuel pump) for fuel pump. You can get them all at a junk yard. Your motor will have the"lobe" if it is a crate motor. You will just need to find a donor car and get the parts. Good Luck
