I'm building a 383, 4.030" by 3.750"; pretty standard stuff. Heads are ported 333882 with a 76cc cylinder volume. I'm looking to get about 8.5-9.0 to 1 compression, I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what piston volume I need. I'd like some piston suggestions, I'm looking to spend under $300.

I think a flat top would put you about 9.5:1 so maybe a small dish would put you there

i would go with flat tops, and use thicker head gasket. That way you can always raise up your compression some without new pistons or milling the heads
