idk what im going to do with the powerplant in it yet. im just looking at options. id like to do something different. i do need to get a 4 cylinder beater. my work isnt far but i really dont wanna run my gp in a pennsylvania winter. if i do put a sbc 350 in it its going to be a moderate build. most likely over 425hp.

Yeah, get yourself a 4cyl beater, that's what I just did. Picked up a 1986 Mazda b2000 truck for $400. And as an added bonus now I have something to haul parts in. 8)
you can do better than that. I just ran a search on the local Kijiji site. First searched for cars under $5k then searched within those results for cars $ 500-$1500 range and came up with 2860 results within a 50 mile radius.
My beater of choice would be a w-body ( grand prix, impala, regal ). $ 1500.00 should get you a really good runner.
Imports are great new/used cars but cost too much in parts to keep maintained if you buy them as a beater.
