I came across some Racing seats that my be interested in buying for my cutlass. To use the 4 pt. harness they use i need a harness bar for them to mount to. Are there any ways i could route the mounting bar so that i could still get passengers in the rear seat comfortable? Any ideas?

Also off topic. i just finished a really rough draft of the rear seat i was designing. what you guys think? I think i am going to make another draft, to model the style of front seats i want to use, so i can have 4 pt. harnesses all around.

or can i just mount the seat belts straight to the floor. i have seen that done with cars that had no rear seat but would it make a difference the were mounted directly downward, because i still want my rear seat?

DO NOT mount the shoulder belts to the floor! There is a specific angle to mount these for safety and if the they go to the floor you run the risk of the belts compressing your spine during a crash.
Keep in mind too that any bar you put behind the front seats to mount the harness to will not be safe for the people in the rear seat during a crash either.

Is there a safe way i could possibly set it up so i can have the harnesses, and the rear seats for passengers? May have to become creative, or just say oh well and take out the rear seat and put in a tastefull speaker box

Im just trying to see if it could be done with no extreme compromise to safety and comfort. Never thought i would try to put those things in the same sentence...lol

Only way to do it would be to set your car up with a multi harness setup and a removeable harness bar.

how is something designed to stop you from coming out of the car when all goes wrong, and the safety equipment is designed to be able to come out of the car? doesn't' that contradict its self.

i'm not doubting that it is safe, but that just make sense in my mind
