87ttop if you use the vortecs they will work great for a zippy street/strip engine, make sure you use dished pistons with that 64cc chambered head. Also don't forget to get the valve guide height cut down to handle more than .480 lift, just swapping to a better spring isn't all that's needed.

Comp cam makes a beehive valve spring that you can use with no machine work. It handles up to .550 lift and doesnt require the valve guide to be trimmed.

CHRIS O., guess I haven't seen those springs yet, that would be nice not to have to cut guide height

What pistons you use depends on the combustion chamber size of the heads your going to use and what compression you want.
Also if any needs to be taken of the block surface to straighten it or remove pits then that comes into play, as well as compressed head gasket thickness. Rebuilding and engine properly requires a lot of research.

The 406 in my signature loves the street and has ok street manners. But its a screamer at the track Going through the traps @7500 rpm but the rpms being so high i blame on a 10 yr old trans with nothing more then a 10yr old stock rebuild. Still servives but cant hold my 400hp  406. Lol

So the first order of business for me is to buy a set of heads get all machine work done then buy parts to build, what do yall think?

Im thinking about switching the whole motor and transmission com over to a 94 LT1i can get motor transmission and computer for 800 how hard is the swap into a,g body considering the computer and all

Wow! After 6 pages and almost a month on this topic you're ready to just go LT1? I'm kinda tempted to make a sarcastic comment about wasting all of our time  .
The LT1 swap is well documented. All you have to do is search.
