Woops yea W41. Gee wonder why I had F41 on my brain in this forum. LOL my Quad 4 Grand Am survived my four teenage drivers and has seen more than its share of abuse.

I had a s-10 that was a 91 that had that quad 4 in it with a 5 speed. It was a peppy little sh*t, but was that the same motor that was in the fwd 442? I know theres the difference between fwd and rwd but ive done a swap with a 3800 that was originally fwd to a rwd.

I'd like to see some pics if that since it was never offered as a RWD. Did you do the swap? What transmission did you use? There's only one Quad4 S10 I've ever seen documentation on.

I think Quad 4 and Tech 4 are getting confused here.

Maybe. I know how I did my RWD Quad4 swap. Just wanted to see how the other guys did it. He did call it peppy and I've never heard anyone apply that term to the Tech4 before :? .

I didnt know much about it. I bought it off my ex's step dad for 400 bucks. he did the work to it and owned it for years. All i knew about it was that it ran great. i dont think it ever had a swap done to it but it was fuel injected and said QUAD4 right on the cover. Looked good. I never looked to see if it was a swap job but i also never asked either. Im going to assume the transmission was the original trans but again i dont know. I dont own the truck anymore, the engine broke a cam and slung a rod. the truck was saying like 270,000 on it. It was a short box, white, and had some other markings on it in faded red on the bed but i cant remember. It was over 10 years ago and i think i had it for 3 months. I got some pics of it but they are back in Ky in storage, lol.

The swap i did was with a 97 3800 supercharged that come out of a riviera. I put that in a 96 camaro for a guy when i was working at a small mechanic shop in Bronston, Ky, No pics of the swap cuz the guy was using the car as a N/T street/strip car. Guess he had some mustangs giving him a hard time
