OK...another question. I know that I can use the accessories from my 307. Should I use a small block water pump as well, or is there a difference? Any advice on the AC bracket for a pancake style compressor? Last, for an HEI distributor, what is best to use (stock pre ECM unit or aftermarket)? Car will be street driven with very occasional track use. 455 through built turbo 350 and...for now...a stock 7.5 rear.

I would use the 307 water pump if it is a heavy duty cooling A/C water pump. The alternator bracket has to be lengthened. I could not get a HEI with stock weight to come in before 3000 rpm. Also you need a limiter screw or you gain timing above 4000 rpm. I have my Mallory breakerless coming in at 1600 rpm, everyone is saying to soon for the track. Plus it has adjustable vacuum and mechanical advance.
