Got the old girl in the drive way at home finally. Had a bit of an eventful trek from the shop where it was worked on. Half way home threw a belt didn't realize it until the temp gauge started to sky rocket. Threw it n neutral and shut her down. Buddy's wrecker finished my maiden voyage home. Two new belts and a new starter that was on its way out and a good bath after 11 years we took her for a 30 mile cruise tonight. One thing I want to do right away is get the stance right. P.O. Put front coils out of a diesel cutlass and it sits way to " at attention" for me in the front. Buddy of mine says I need to match the rear to the front but I think it'll look to "jacked up". I like the lower in the front look. What's a good spring set up for a 455 in a 85 cutlass?

Pull those diesel springs out and just get some stock replacement springs for a 307 car.

X2. There's only a 100lb difference or so between a BBO and SBO anyway. I had the stock 420lb/in springs in my '87 for years with the 455 and it was just fine.

The weight difference is even less than that... more like 60-70 lbs...
I run my stock F41 springs in my 442 and honestly it feels no different with the 455 than it did with the 307.
