Does anyone know if anyone makes a header that DOESN'T have a runner that goes around the frame rail?
I have an opportunity to purchase a used set for cheap (will need some repair, but I'm down for it), however from the pictures, it doesn't look like the any of the tubes go around the frame rail, I haven't seen any like that before... He swears that they're for a 455 in a Gbody but i want to make sure...

Dick Miller Racing sells some that stay inside the frame rails and they run somewhere around $700-$800 new.

Here are the pics he sent me, whaddya think? Yes I know they're damaged, I can fix that, I just want to be sure they'll fit before I buy them...

I don't think those are for a big block OR a G-body. Here are mine, see how far back they are swept? Then look at how they go down around the back of the crossmember. I think the ones you posted would hit the crossmember and not clear the firewall.

That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure, well if anyone knows of a good used set, I'm game for a good buy! 8)

Those look like a set of hedman headers for a small block olds, I had a set once and tried to put them on a 455 in a g body and the drivers side tube (same tube thats in the photo) gets crushed because of the steering shaft. The 455 sits up higher because of the physical size of the block (it is called a big block) so the heads are up higher compared to the small block that sits lower so the headers interfere with the steering shaft.
