455 olds gear drive

what is the best gear drive for the 455 olds. not sure if the pontiac motor is exactly the same beings i have seen listings with one or the other but different PN's. seen some on ebay as well. anyone have a gear drive and wanna give some friendly advice/

No gear drive is the best. 🙂

Seriously, there have been issues in the past with gear drive's and Olds engines. They tend to crack the block. Someone else might be able to chime in on which is which.

And no, the only internal part that Olds shares with a Pontiac are the lifters.

Go with a nice double roller timing chain like a Cloyes, Rollmaster, etc.

If you want the sounds of a supercharger, get a supercharger. 😉

Those cheap ones they sell on ebay are chinese.. id avoid those at all costs..
