Okay full story here. 700r4 trans. Has 10-vane frint pump, hardened rings, corvette servo and governor. I had stock like 1600 stall converter. worked fine. bought and installed a protorque 2200 stall converter. had this issue where it would get to 4th shift and go in and drop right back to 3rd. if I stayed on it would continually go back and forth. brought converter back and was told too loose. replaced it and new tighter one did the same thing. put stock one back in and had no issues. Just got another 2000 stall converter from patc. same issue. I've spoken with a few trans techs. 1st told me to readjust tv cable bc of new hogher stall. tried that and had no difference in issue. only affected 1-3 shift timing. then was told it sounds like a governor issue. swapped old stock governer in. no change. any input greatly appreciated.
