hey guys i just picked up a set of 5A heads and the A4 intake to swap onto my 307 with the 7A's. i know the two use different lifters for the cams, and that is my question. Can i use the roller lifters that are currently in the car with the new 5A heads or do i need to swap the lifters along with the heads when i have it all apart? The engine is a 1986 vin 9 307

oh and one more thing, are the exhaust manifolds the same for the 5A and 7A heads??? i know i have the cast iron ones, and from what i read on the Olds FAQ they seem to be the same.

It should all work, use your manifolds if cast iron and the pushrods from the 7A heads. The pushrods are longer on flat tappet engines.

the later stainless tubular manifolds have smaller ports.. u need the earlier ones..

use the A4 intake or a performer too.. toss that junk a5 intake in the trash the one you have stock has smaller ports and using it makes your head swap absolutely worthless!
