I might receive a gift, a 6-speed transmission with the full kit from a camaro or Trans am last generation. I would like to know how hard it is to make it fit on my 1979 Pontiac Grand Lemans with a 350 4 bolt main equipped already with a th350 ???

t-56?

depending which car it came out of, bellhousing, shortened driveshaft, x-member, complete clutch setup, i am going full hydraulic, with a hydraulic t/o bearing. also clutch, p/p, etc.

you might have to strategically whack your tunnel or modify the tunnel to get it to fit,

yep, i'ts free, but I was planning to do a swap of transmission anyway, so If I really get's it, I be looking forward to do it.

The biggest negative would be getting the speedometer to read. All F cars with the T-56 used a electronic speedometer drive, so you need an adapter tailshaft housing to mate it to a standard speedo cable. You also want to see where the shifter will wind up as it may be that you will need to build a customized shifter stalk to be able to use it. All in all, these are not insurmountable obstacles if you are willing to tackle them and it is not your daily driver. It will take some time and patience to do it right. I would definitely try to do it if I was in your situation, and I envy you for having the parts!
