I don't have any pictures from the rear seat area but the notch you need to cut is usually about 3/4"-1" deep and around 5"-6" long and you cut just below the rear deck.
You cut the notch based on the thickness of your 6 x 9, I did mine so the speaker slides into the notch and I only need 2 screws to secure it.
I also open the top area for better sound.
Plenty of clearance from the trunk bars.
You can't see the notch once the rear seat is in and you can barely see it in these pictures from the trunk area.
