I bought a new radio for my Elco and want to put speakers behind the seats. Does anybody make custom boxes that can be mounted back there to hold a set of 6x9 speakers?

i made my own out of sheet metal it;s better but i think the seats block the sound i;m thinking about a small subwoofer too .they also sell inner door panel bottoms with speaker holes that might be a good option

Believe it or not, it was a dealer installed option from what I've read, although extremely uncommon. I looked into putting some into mine and the best I could find were these:

And of course the usual 6x9 boxes, which really need 0.75 or more cubic feet + PolyFill to have bass.

Man, I did a butt load of research on this topic. I found a solution that I'm happy with. It appears they make lower door panels for our rides with speaker pods in them. On the jungle they are under a hundred bucks. I paid far more than that through Dixie restoration, but they color matched my interior. They showed up on Friday, along with my other stuff. My first impressions are they look awesome! However the plastic they are made out of seems iffy. I think they could crack easily if mishandled. I won't be able to install them till the spring, so won't have final update till then.
