Im not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to cylinder heads but i have a leak on my head in the front and i put my had where the leak was if im not mistaken it feels like a freeze plug but im not sure and if so whats the best way to get it out while in my car?

I just looked on my 70 #6 heads, you should be able to get it out in car. You need get something like a screwdriver to pry out the freeze plug. If you get it out, a hammer and socket, tap it in with a bit of RTV to help seal.
