Hi guys, I am looking into installing a 700r4 in my 82 Malibu wagon, it has a 383 stroker, jegs th350 and 4:10 gears. I am currently running the jegs crossmember for dual exhaust. does anyone know a good 700r4 and a list of things I need to do this swap, also will it keep my rpms a little lower with my gear ratio? thanks for the help
steve.
[size=150so I was on monster transmissions and seen the 700r4 as kit for $2400 with the 3000 stall non lock up and jegs has the jegster 700r4 trans crossmember. Am I leaving anything out I need and does anyone know how monster products are? Thanks again

Pretty sure driveshaft shortened and new yoke, tv cable and shifter depending on what u have. Monster products are okay, I know patc makes the best products but they are a little pricey.
The output shaft on the TH350 and 700R4 are the same, but you will have to shorten the driveshaft 3" (unless you have a 9" tail TH350, then you don't have to shorten it). You will want a lock-up converter to take full advantage of the overdrive and to reduce heat in the trans. Also need to get a bracket for your carb (if it's anything besides a Q jet) to keep the geometry correct for the TV cable on the 700, having these out of adjustment can burn a 700 up quick. Look at Bowtie Overdrives, TCI, Hughes, PATC, Goodfellas, just to name a few. One more thing is to make sure you have a good transmission cooler, because overdrives make alot of heat.
