Hey guys I need your help. I made the swap to a 700R4 from a Turbo 350 ina 86 Monte Carlo LS. My issue is my shift linkage hit the bottom of the car when I try to put it in gear. Any suggestions on what type of SHift Linkage to go with. I am using the stock Colomn shifter in the car. I dont want to move it to the floor

Well two options that I know of...I swapped to 700r-4 and eliminated shift linkage and put microswitches in. My uncle swapped in 700r-4 and fabricated the bracket and lever to fit. The linkage installs in the same spot (both trans same distance to manual shaft from bellhousing), the big difference lies in the detents. I forget exactly where but its something like 200-4r & 350 go from 9 o'clock position down, where 700 starts up at like 1030-11 position. I'll ask my uncle for more info if you need it. I found microswitch install to be pretty simple.

You lost me with the Microswitches. Can you explain that to me a little more?
X2

Sorry to lose you guys. I have floor shift car, so I ran microswitches for park-lock and for reverse lights. My Uncle has column and he edited factory linkage and arm to work.
