ok made up my mind, got solid main web 76 350 with #8 heads, stock pistons, stock bore, how much should the heads be cut to get 9:1 cr? going to port and polish heads, stock valves, 264/280 duration at 0 lift with 440/490 lift and 112 lobe sep... stock intake and exhaust with true duals, if one of you have done something like this could you tell me how it did, oh and 7.5 rear with 2.31 and 14" any info would be apreciated. putting it in an 86 cutlass for my son.

You'll need to mill alot off #8 heads to get 9:1 CR with the stock pistons. In fact, I'm not even sure it's practcal or even possible. New flat top pistons will give you around 9:1 with stock #8 heads though.

There were no 2 .31 gears for the 7.5 rears. Did you mean 2.41? Either way they're pretty bad so if you want to keep them, make sure the cam's not too big ( I'm not familiar with the cam you listed specs for ).

What are the goals for this engine? What about budget? Do you insist upon certain things ( like the 2.41 gears or stock intake for example )?

just trying to get a little extra power, don't want too much because 16 year old will be driving it, and no don't have to use the 2.41 or stock intake, and the cam is a rv or mileage saver type cam, don't have a lot of money right now to put in it, just want to get it running for son. later plans will have more money to bore engine and put good pistons in it and find maybe 3A heads.
