Good stuff,
Whats the game plan, genral clean and repair?

I dont see anything but cracked dash pads here in michigan!
I submitted a how to on a dash cap install basically what I did and it worked really well was filled in all the cracks and weak spots with fiberglass impregnated body filler before instaling the cap. I wonder if it would work jast as well with the wrap your thinking about?

Game plan is to get it running which may or may not include fuel injection.
I have sworn off carburetors. After putting FI on my Jeep a few years ago, I decided if I have something, it'll run right.
Been looking at the FAST EFI 2.0 setup. They claim you can run E85 through it.

After I get it running, lots of clean up. Maybe change interior color.
At this point, I just want to get it running and see what kind of abuse it can take.
Probably look for some bucket seats. Maybe racing seats.

There have been lots of single turbos going into cars running E85 and not having to use an intercooler, I will have to look at the compression though. Pretty sure it is about 10:1 if I can remember. Not sure the bottom end can handle more than 600hp either. I think it is a cast crank.

As far as the dash, that is what I was thinking. Fill in the cracks, sand then wrap.

Nice score! I always loved the GPs. Chrome bumper solidifies American Muscle 😉

Thanks!
Those bumpers are begging to be pulled closer to the body.

Some people will be jealous, but this car comes with brand new bumper to body plastic that he bought when we were re-building the engine. It has been sitting in his uncles garage since.

He said the real chore will begin after removing the car from the garage. It is finding all the other parts to it in his uncles garage.

Ok we are in our new house and I have the garage sorted enough to accept the new project, so the plan is to go get the car this Sunday if everything goes as planned. With two kids, that doesn't always happen.

Can't wait to dig into the car!

Well the car is finally home.
Was able to go get it yesterday.

Here is where it will sit while I work on it, the garage and the new house all at the same time

Dusty and dirty

Here is a shot of the heads. Are these worth a darn?

random

Found this information on the heads.
If you can find a set of 670 heads, they have the big valves, screw-in rocker studs and flow better than any other D-port head but they aren't cheap. They were only offered in 1967 and you will need plenty of octane because they are high compression heads (only like 72 or 76cc's).

Then this reply. LOL
They dont flow the best, that is a common misconception, They flow the best with low lift camshafts, but with big cams they have a tendency to limit flow because of the compression chamber being a closed design

Good information about them here.

Long overdue update.
In the middle of the EFI install.
All that is left is under dash hookups, fuel pump hook up, power wires to battery.
Waiting on the return fuel line. They don't send enough for a run to and from the Throttle body. Go figure.
Ordered some last week, got it, they sent two sections of 5 feet instead of 15 feet continuous.
Had to call and get that fixed.
Anyway the install is going pretty smooth. Just finding time to do it is the hang up.
Here are a few pictures

Oh man It has been a little bit since I have updated this thread.
The car is running and driving!
We had a big get together at my house for the start up.
My son was able to help when he could.

Here is a shot of the car at it's first fill up in forever.

I did some research and got all the stuff to lower the car. I put everything on this weekend, but have to build a spacer for the nut that holds the rotor on.

Shocks purchased for the car were Belltech shocks made for a 2" drop
Fronts are BEL-8006 from summit racing. They need to be modified because the cup on the bottom of the lower A-arm is too small for the mounts on the shock and they need to be trimmed.
Rear are BEL-8512 from summit racing. Direct install

Rear springs are also from Summit and are part number CLP-RCS6034-2. They are suppose to lower the car about 3", but we shall see.

I purchased front lowering spindles from ebay for an S-10.
I had to pick up the outer bearing for the S-10 also, because the pontiac is a smaller I.D.
This poses a problem for the existing washer, because the bearing slides up on the spindle further than the threads. I am making a spacer to take up that space.

I will get pictures up after I get it set on the ground.
