It would help if you posted a link to CL, or pictures of the car.

that is the exact text from craigslist. and i did post pictures, the CL ad didn't have pics, so i asked in an email for some, and pasted them here. there was only 2 though.

No idea where you're from, but in my opinion, far too many people get all worked up over the mechanical aspect of stuff for sale, and ignore the really expensive/hard to repair body issues.

See it all the time...thousands and thousands of dollars spent on go-fast goodies, and it's all put into a rusty POS. You can build a great engine anywhere in the country, but a good body, that's a whole 'nother story. I'm a bodyman by trade, and I've passed on a lot of cars that were "steals" because it just isn't worth fixing some of the junk out there.

No mention of miles on chassis...chances are with 23K on the rebuild, the Camino has 150K or better on everything else. Of course, it could be a real creampuff and the guy's just strapped, but those deals usually wind up going to somebody they know, rather than ending up on craigslist.

Your pictures don't show up because you tried to link to a google mailbox folder....best bet is imageshack or photobucket and use the links provided.

$3500 for a 79 Camino isn't bad...around here they're expensive, and generally they're either really nice (really expensive) or total beaters (slightly less expensive).

looked at the pics it looks like its been sitting i would diffently drive it too make sure it shift and drive good and look the body over then i would offer him 2500 cash in hand because cash is king but youll probally have to go thru the suspension but it wont cost as much as you think if you keep it stock good luck
