I'm starting a thread on my 79 Elky. It has had a hard life and many would have left it for dead. I don't have a name for it so Im open to suggestions.
I got it a couple of years ago but I haven't done much to it until this summer. It didn't run the po didn't know why turned out the distributor that replaced the original was a tooth off, dropped it back in the right spot it started up. Since then I replaced the cap, rotor, wires and plugs. The fuel system was next replacing the tank and sending unit since they were filled with rust.
It does run and drive but doesn't stop very well that will be next.
Plans are to fix the rust in the body/floor and get a different frame under it. The po had patch panels welded on the quarters but the person that did it did a very poor job, that was the same person that primered the body just spraying right over bondo. Im going to paint it gloss black and tan interior after fixing the mess that's there.
Im thinking about putting the 6L that I have sitting in my storage shed in at the same time I do the frame swap.
