79 grand prix sj

Nice car, reminds me of my neighbors parents car that we used to take for beat runs back in the day when it was a few years old! Same bright green color but it actually grew on you and with the sleek Grand Prix interior it makes it look fancy and not cheap.

I like the super pickle look. It's a color combo you don't see much of anymore. The car doesn't look all hacked up, which is a plus. I don't want to sound like a d***, but what makes you think it's an SJ? Looking at your photo's tells me it's not. It's missing all of the LJ / SJ ginger bread. I'm not talking bad on you or your car, so don't take me wrong.

Maybe I'm just having a blonde moment but do you care to elaborate a little bit? My car is an LJ but everything I've read says viscount interior was an SJ option :?

My car is loaded minus any F41 options. Is there a visual cue to identifying an LJ from an SJ or a base model?

I have bought and cut up many 79 G/P LJ & SJ one owner / old man cars. Who ever told you only SJ's came with viscount interior is full of it. The viscount option came in both LJ and SJ cars. I have a couple sets. Some need to be recovered and some mint.

Some fast and easy interior clue's are :

LJ/SJ came with stainless trim around the gas/brake pedal pads and lower door panels (around door carpet), Base models did not.

LJ / Base models had wood grain trim, SJ had brushed silver.

I could go more in depth later if you want.

Thanks! I never knew that about the pedals, extra trim & silver dash insert. I'm assuming the trim around the bumper fillers is something extra too.

All 78-80 G/P's had the stainless on the front and rear bumper fillers. If you don't have them, then they fell of or never got put back on if the filler was replaced.
