Hey guys. Im getting ready to build my 8.5. If i could bump up axles to 30 spline that would be great. What center section would be a good choice? I dont want to use the clutch style posi for they wear out faster then a mechanical style posi. I want to be able to cut 1.40 60fts all day long with no issues. Any advise would be great. Thank you all.

Well if you plan on 1.4's 60ft. Clip elims are a must. Also with that hard of a launch i would put a girdle cover on. I have a 8.5 with 33 spline axles cclip elims and a girdle and have been a low 1.5 with no issues. But i am running a full spool which suck on th street.
How bad is it on the street? I wana jump the axle spline count also. What company makes a limited slip tht allows u to use a bigger spline axle? I could use some part numbers to take a look at.
What does everyone think of a spool and bigger axles if it IS street driven but maybe 2000 to 3000 miles a summer. Cclip elim. Roughly how long would a setup like this last.?
How long would it last? You probably won't break anything but a spool sucks on the street. I ran one for about a week once around town and to work. It was hard to steer and hopped the tires in turns. There was nothing cool about it at all and I was glad when it was swapped back out.

By the time you invest the coin in the 8.5 you could have gone to a 9 inch. I don't know your plans for the future or how much more power you plan on making. AN 8.5 will certainly be great for where you are at and it will take a g body deep into the single digits.

ok so spool is out the window. I want a good center section. what center section would be a good choice? and is there a limited slip style center out there that allow you to use 30 or 33 spline axles? i also want to do c clip eliminators
