Hey everyone, I have just spotted a 8.5" GN Rear complete from hub to hub for $250. I think thats a pretty good deal don't you? Supposedly I can see and hear it in car. Let me know if you think it is worth it.
I am planning on putting it in my 88 Cutlass, or I may cut someone on here a good deal if I pick it up, I'll have to see how it goes.

that is a damn good deal. Where are you located and what kind of deal will you cut someone on it?

   I was just kidding!

That is a damn good deal though if it's what they claim it is.

Yeah, I know. I figured I would pass it on to you guys, I really don't have a place to store it at the moment, plus I'm working 12hours/7days a week. I don't even have time to go pick it up until after Christmas. So I hope one of you guys get lucky and gets it if it is the real deal. I have seen them go for $850-$1000.

Have a good one,

Well I believe it's overpriced... Y Y Y would u weld the spiders unless its not really a GN rear or its so beat the limited slip is more like open... but hey its a housing brakes and axles .. matybe :?

I sent the seller a message yesterday looking to get pics......no response as of yet..Something doesn't sound right to me. I'd buy it at that price....and flip it 8)

Nice, they welded the spider-gears. Plan on buying a new carrier for it...

all depends who welded the gears and how they did it...some just welded the side gears so the pinion gears wouldn't turn and some welded the gears together but the carrier shouldn't be affected at all is they were careful...

as far as why they were welded most tracks don't allow lockers or posi-track and for some strange reason some won't allow spools so we end up welding the spiders. Spools would be preferred since they are lighter than a carrier with the spiders and they don't churn up the oil so you get a bit more speed and hp to the wheels with a spool

the other thing you have to ask is if the studs are 1/2 or the stock size and why is he selling it online....since it was raced I wonder is the tubes are bent...I know at the track that would be snapped up in a heartbeat is it was an 8.5" complete rear in good shape so I'm thinking maybe the rear is bent and the track knows about it...or he doesn't want to stick another racer with it
