i was wondering whats the bumper cover on 80s cutlass made of...mines is some sort of plastic or something..it sure as hell aint metal or anything.....is every cutlass made from that material?

yep i believe plastic, they're were all made like that from 81-88,they worp over time and if you find spares make sure you keep them in the upright shape in storage or they wont resume their normal shape but rather stay crooked.

is it possible if that i could fiberglass the front and rear bumper covers and repaint them...would they retain shape after different weather circumstances?

i would just leave them plastic and repaint them,i wouldnt sand blast them, maybe some sort of less tough grit sand to strip the paint of them

If you made some out of fiberglass that might work, but I do not think that the fiberglass would stay adhered to the plastic for very long. Also, these things were imperfect when the cars were new. The molds were not very precise or accurate at all. GM did not make very nice plastic noses for it's cars back in the 80's, but then again, neither did anyone else. You can either tool up to make your own perfect pieces ( if you do, let me know...), or accept it as part of the car's character. I tend to accept it myself, the other option is too time consuming and expensive.
