I was on craigslist today and ran across some parts for an 81 Grand Prix for sale. I talked to the people selling the parts and they was going to crush the car soon. Long story short I got them to hold off on getting it crushed and they will sell me the whole car. Its not the nicest but its got some potential still. It had a 4.1 Liter in it but has a spun bearing. Here is the car they will sell it to me for $400 the price they will get for scrap. Do you guys think it is worth it? I have been wanting one for a while just cant ever seem to find one.

Well from what you guys see do you think it is worth the $400 they want?

Whats the frame, floors, and trunk floor look like? If thats all solid IMO $400 is a steal!

I don't know man. It's only $400 but it looks beat. Bad engine, lots of dings, landau looks cracked, interior doesn't look good, garbage tires, I can tell the driver's door hinges are sagging in the pic, then there's the undercarriage to check out. You'd probably be further ahead buying a $1000 car in better shape than pissing around with that.

Just being honest. Then again if you feel like investing the time and money it's your call.

Thanks for your input. I am thinking if nothing else getting it and getting the gp cross brace and parting it out and scraping the rest myself. If the frame or floors are shot. I have a rebuilt 301 sitting in my inlaws garage I thought about putting in it.

It does look beat up but lets hope the rest checks out good. If you do decide to part it out i am interested in the lower chrome rocker panel behind the passenger door..

You guys have more motivation than I do! I haven't parted out a car since I was in my 20's and have no plans to do it any time soon. Doesn't seem worth the trouble unless there's some high dollar items on the car IMO.
