81 Pontiac safari wagon

Well ive been searching for a ponti wagon for about a year now, and my search just ended.
Picked up an 80k original mile 81 thats been sitting in a barn for a while. Drove 600 miles the
last two day and trailered it home today. The car is pretty much rust free, 231 v6 for now, interior
is in good shape. Will post some pics soon.

Only a year? Good score. Mine took 5 years then another 5 years of begging an old guy. Double check for rust up under the rear wheelwells as that's where it seems to start.

Ok thanks for the tip, she looks good so far but ill be checking it over more in the next few days. I was told it hadnt run in at least a year and a half, we put a battery in, sprayed some carb cleaner, and she fired rite up. Just got done riding around in it a little, drives nice and straight.

a buddy of mine just went through hell with his optispark, he put an aftermarket in then had to go back to stock.
Nice wagon you got there.

Thank's. That's what I'm struggling with at the moment, which to buy. I hear so many horror stories about the cheap units. And being a young girl, I have to make an appointment to even get a chance to troubleshoot it.

Ill talk to him in a day or so and find out which aftermarket he bought and let you know, it just didnt work,
I think hes still trying to get his money back, but then he had to shell out money for the stock one, now its fine.

Your firebird looks like an LS1 so no optispark to deal with. I have both LT1 and LS1 vehicles and they both are great and run well but the LS1 has more power of course.
