Hi there, just to start, I wont actually be considering this for quite awhile, but is there a reproduction or a simple "bolt-on" turbo setup for the 231, 3.8 V6? I have a 1982 Olds Cutlass, and I thought the T-Type Regal had a carbureted turbo setup in the early "before black" days. I just want to know if the swap is do-able, and if i should look for repro setups or find a wrecked T-Type. Any information on this swap would be great, Thanks

Yes the swap is do-able but you would need to find a complete car or at least a running engine with the COMPLETE setup. there are no reproduction parts for that setup and many of the parts can be difficult to locate and expensive. The problem is they didnt run all that great to begin with and were plagued by drivability and reliability problems. You would be money ahead to use a later 84-87 injected setup as they are much more plentiful , run much better and parts are easier to find. Though if you do want more info into a carbed setup check the "before black" section on the turbobuick.com forums. there's a lot of guys over there who have a loyal following to the early turbo cars. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.

Wow, I nearly forgot about this post. I actually decided to not mess with this motor, It's just not worth it for the car, It's too far gone to be fixed up. It'll just be a daily driver until I find a nicer G-Body to put money into
