Ok, there are more photos up now I will share with you the history of this particular car.
Its just about your classic grandma story. From what I've pieced together, the old couple in question bought it new. They only drove it occasionally and kept it inside. They wrecked it once, wiped out the whole front end and totaled it. Now it has an R title. They had a son or friend or neighbor with a body shop who owed them a favor so they fixed it. If you werent staring at the little details, you'd never know. The only remnants of the accident, or of the repair, is the pinstripe. The RR quarter to the driver door are painted on, the front fenders and passenger door are vynil. Anyway, the old man passed some years ago and his wife continued to use the car until early 2006 when she failed the eye test at the DMV and had her license revoked. She sold it to her neighbor, one of my co-workers who really had no interest in it. I bought it from him for $1,700 right before graduating high school.
The car has almost no options, which is ok with me. Its a cloth bench seat, column shifter. 3.8 L. 3 spd automatic. Stock wheels, 225x70 BFGs. The car came with Metal Guard. There are little holes drilled in the body where undercoat was injected. The frame had undercoat on it, but I think it's worn off. I had to patch some rust cracks in the LR frame rail 2 summers ago. I'll tell you more in the future, but this is a lot of reading, and I just ran out of coffee. Good day.
